PBX Clerk (Per Diem)

About the role

The PBX Clerk provides front‑line telephone support for Kingman Healthcare, greeting callers, directing calls to the appropriate departments, and handling high call volumes with professionalism. The role also includes scanning and auditing admission documents in the EMR system to ensure accurate patient records. This position supports patient access and contributes to the hospital’s commitment to quality care.

Key responsibilities

• Answer PBX calls courteously, identify the department, and route calls promptly.
• Provide receptionist‑style service over the phone, handling up to 100 calls daily.
• Scan discharged patient charts, ER treats, and outpatient records, ensuring completeness of insurance cards, orders, and other admission documents.
• Perform quality‑assurance audits on scanned documents and alert supervisors to discrepancies.
• Adhere to hospital policies, behavioral expectations, and safety protocols, including exposure Category II precautions.
• Assist with general office tasks to support departmental efficiency.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of office experience with direct customer interaction.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
