Payor Process & Documentation Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a meticulous technical writer with foundational knowledge of revenue cycle management, especially prior authorization, to transform complex, evolving payor requirements into clear, standardized documentation for our team. The role focuses on creating and maintaining checklists, requirement guides, and process documentation, with a portion dedicated to researching payor‑specific submission processes.

Key responsibilities

• Write and maintain clear, standardized documentation of payor requirements, submission processes, and authorization workflows.
• Build and refine checklists for prior authorization and benefit verification submissions across payors, ensuring consistent format and terminology.
• Annotate and tag source materials (payor policies, portal captures, requirement documents) with structured labels for internal reference.
• Edit and standardize documentation drafted by others to maintain consistent style, structure, and level of detail.
• Keep documentation up‑to‑date as payor policies change, tracking versions and proofreading for accuracy.

Required profile

• Foundational knowledge of revenue cycle management with specific familiarity with prior authorization processes.
• Proven track record of producing accurate, low‑error technical documentation; errors, if any, are limited to non‑foundational details.
• Experience creating checklists, SOPs, style guides, or other standardized reference materials.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently, bringing structure to ambiguous or undocumented processes.
