Patient Care Technician (Part‑time)

About the role

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) works under the direction of the Nurse Manager and the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to deliver patient care within the scope of practice. The role includes both direct patient assistance and clerical duties such as transcribing and maintaining written information.

Key responsibilities

• Perform a variety of patient‑care activities and Nurse Aide skills to meet patients' daily personal needs.
• Accurately transcribe and process provider orders in line with medical center policies.
• Communicate information courteously and in accordance with hospital procedures.
• Organize, prioritize, and execute work efficiently.
• Facilitate patient flow by transferring and discharging patients in the appropriate systems.
• Maintain schedule adjustments to enhance team performance.
• Demonstrate commitment to departmental values and positive interpersonal relations.
• Maintain and promote customer satisfaction.
• Perform moderate or waived point‑of‑care testing per CLIA guidelines.

Required profile

• Certification: Nursing Assistant I (Cert Nursing Asst I).
• Education: General Education Degree.
• Experience preferred, with knowledge of medical terminology and strong teamwork, communication, and compassion.
