Part‑Time Psychologist (Cadwell RYDC)

About the role

The Department of Juvenile Justice in Georgia seeks a part‑time psychologist to conduct diagnostic evaluations and provide clinical supervision for youth at the Cadwell Residential Youth Development Center (RYDC). This role supports mental‑health services for young people under state custody.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct and document diagnostic evaluations in line with professional standards, DJJ policy, and Office of Behavioral Health Services guidelines.
• Review background information, interview youth, assess mental status, risk factors, and need for services.
• Integrate data to produce comprehensive diagnostic reports, including psychosocial information, clinical formulation, multiaxial diagnosis, and treatment recommendations.
• Present evaluation results in treatment team meetings and coordinate with other mental‑health staff.
• Utilize authorized psychometric measures as clinically indicated.
• Provide clinical supervision to mental‑health staff, focusing on support, development, and monitoring of clinical work.
• Maintain scheduled, structured supervision sessions with documented records and offer 24‑hour on‑call consultation as needed.
• Evaluate and monitor mental‑health services for compliance with DJJ policy and professional standards, approve assessments, and conduct monthly audits of suicide‑prevention and special‑management plans.
