Part-Time Welding Lab Assistant (Hall Campus)

About the role

Lanier Technical College is seeking a part‑time Welding Lab Assistant for its Hall Campus in Gainesville, GA. The position is non‑benefits eligible, FLSA non‑exempt, and works under the direct supervision of faculty during scheduled lab sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment as instructed.
• Assist with inventory management and requisition of lab supplies.
• Support faculty by supervising and mentoring students during lab or tutoring sessions.
• Help maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience in the welding field.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work up to 29 hours per week.
• Neat appearance and ability to work well with others.

Required skills

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
• Proficiency with relevant software and hardware tools.
• Knowledge of quality management techniques.
• Familiarity with welding codes such as AWS D11, API 1104, and ASME B31.1.

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $17‑$19, based on experience.
• Flexible part‑time schedule up to 29 hours per week, appointed per academic term.
