Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer (Perimeter Assessment)

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a part-time Unarmed Security Officer in Arlington, VA, to support an aerospace and defense client. The officer monitors and patrols assigned areas, carries out routine rounds, responds to security concerns and maintains a visible presence that helps deter incidents. The schedule is flexible, with day shifts on Friday and Saturday from 2:45 PM to 10:45 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors and vendors by carrying out security procedures, site policies and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, access points, parking areas and perimeter areas to identify unusual conditions and deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to controlled areas, verify credentials and document visitor, contractor and delivery activity.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms and critical situations, notifying site contacts and emergency responders when needed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrols, incidents, observations and shift activities.

Required profile

• At least two years of security-related experience.
• An active DoD Secret clearance.
• A state, county or city-issued security license is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; at least 18 years old for unarmed roles.
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Required skills

• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• A valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.
