Part-time Tutor – Writing Support Lab

About the role

Columbus Technical College is seeking a part‑time Tutor for its Student Writing Support Lab. The tutor will provide one‑on‑one writing assistance to students and keep accurate records of their progress.

Key responsibilities

• Complete tutor training through the Writing Support Lab.
• Work with a team to improve student success rates in English courses.
• Submit precise paperwork in a timely manner.
• Provide one‑on‑one writing tutoring and assistance.
• Attend training sessions at the Writing Support Lab.
• Maintain honest and accurate records while tracking student progress.
• Assist the Writing Center Coordinator in planning faculty development workshops.
• Participate in committee assignments and collaborative projects with Academic Affairs and Student Services personnel.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Required profile

• Current technical college student with an overall GPA of 3.0 and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in English.
• Or an external applicant with demonstrated ability and experience in the subject field and documented tutoring or teaching experience.

What we offer

• Pay rate of $13.00 (commensurate with education and experience).
