Part-Time Radiation Therapist – Jeff Hwy

About the role

This position applies ionizing radiation to oncology patients in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. The therapist maintains accurate treatment records, coordinates required exams, and monitors patients for adverse reactions during therapy. The role emphasizes patient safety, precise documentation, and collaboration with physicians and families.

Key responsibilities

• Administers radiation therapy to patients according to the Radiation Oncologist’s prescription.
• Documents port films, treatment charts and submits daily billing for patients under treatment.
• Requests and coordinates required exams such as simulations for field changes and boost fields.
• Maintains the daily patient treatment schedule and performs weekly chart checks.
• Performs quality control duties and daily treatment machine quality assurance.
• Exhibits flexibility in scheduling and staffing to meet departmental needs.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and licensed by the state Radiologic Technology Board within 90 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Proficient computer skills for data entry and use of Windows‑based applications.
