Part-Time Maintenance Worker

About the role

This part‑time position (12‑20 hrs/week) supports the upkeep of district facilities and park areas, primarily during weekday mornings. The role offers entry‑level pay with potential annual increases based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Prune trees and shrubs using hand or power saws, independently or with an assistant.
• Mow, edge, and water turf areas; maintain and prepare sports fields.
• Operate a variety of power and hand‑held tools, light equipment, and vehicles.
• Assist with planting, removing vegetation, and maintaining sprinkler systems.
• Enforce park and district ordinances, keep areas clean and safe, and sanitize restrooms.
• Support minor construction, building remodels, and repairs of district facilities and equipment.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of grounds and building maintenance methods, tools, and safety practices.
• Ability to perform manual labor, lift up to 75 lb, and work in varied weather conditions.
• Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and good driving record.

Required skills

• Operation of power equipment (mowers, cherry pickers, lifts).
• Sprinkler system installation and repair.
• Basic computer proficiency.
