About the role
The Harbor provides a short‑term shelter for runaway and homeless youth ages 9‑17 in Saint Clair County. We are seeking a part‑time Intervention Specialist to support residents with daily routines, crisis response, and overall well‑being on a rotating 8‑hour shift schedule.
Key responsibilities
- Assist youth with daily activities such as waking up, school attendance, meals, homework, chores and bedtime.
- Supervise and guide residents during on‑site time and outings, including transportation to school and appointments.
- Provide basic medical support, administer medication, and offer first‑aid as needed.
- Complete intake forms, maintain case documentation, and record contact logs.
- Answer crisis calls and deliver immediate intervention.
- Conduct bed checks, midnight interventions, and monitor behavior in line with service plans.
- Prepare nutritious meals, track eating habits, and manage clothing, linens and hygiene supplies.
- Support the Program Director in meeting state, federal, health and fire compliance requirements.
- Participate in staff trainings, meetings and supervision sessions.
