Part-Time House Manager – Los Altos, CA

About the role

We are seeking a proactive, part‑time House Manager to keep our Los Altos home running smoothly for a busy family of four. The role is 15–20 hours per week, Monday‑Friday mornings, with occasional evening coverage. Compensation is $40‑$50 per hour and the start date is ASAP.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain organization systems throughout the home, including kitchen and storage areas.
• Perform daily resets, light cleaning, dishwashing, vacuuming high‑traffic zones, and prepare the home for the regular cleaning service.
• Manage laundry, folding, ironing, and linen rotation with attention to detail.
• Conduct occasional deep cleans of appliances, baseboards, and specialty areas.
• Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies; handle grocery shopping and errands aligned with dietary preferences.
• Prepare healthy snacks and maintain tidy kitchen and dining spaces.
• Provide backup childcare for short periods and support parents at events.
• Maintain the family vehicle (fuel, cleaning, organization) and oversee outdoor spaces and seasonal home checks.

Required profile

• Proactive, detail‑oriented, and able to anticipate household needs without prompting.
• High emotional intelligence with the ability to read the family’s rhythm and act appropriately.
• Experience working with young children (ages 4‑7) and comfortable providing occasional childcare.
• Reliable personal transportation with mileage reimbursement available.
• Authorized to work in the United States and able to maintain a smoke‑free, fragrance‑free environment.
• Up‑to‑date vaccinations and preferably CPR/First Aid certified.
