Part-Time Fleet Driver

About the role

The Texas A&M AgriLife Institute for Advancing Health Through Agriculture is seeking a part‑time Fleet Driver to support the safe and reliable movement of its vehicle fleet, research materials, and mobile clinic equipment in Dallas, Texas. Reporting to the Fleet Manager, you will help ensure vehicles are ready for field operations and that deliveries follow established schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Operate cars, SUVs, 25‑ft and 40‑ft RVs safely, adhering to all traffic and safety regulations.
• Pick up and deliver research supplies, equipment, and documents, including on Fridays and Saturdays.
• Maintain accurate delivery and pickup logs.
• Inspect vehicles daily and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Handle temperature‑controlled laboratory items according to protocol.
• Load, unload, and organize cargo; keep vehicles clean and perform basic RV upkeep such as trash removal, sweeping, and surface disinfection.
• Perform general handy‑person tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to drive up to 8 hours per day and work weekends.
• Physical capacity to lift objects up to 50 lb and perform light physical effort.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating multiple vehicle types, including RVs and trailers.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance for cars, SUVs, and RVs.

What we offer

• Proposed minimum salary of $22.00 per hour.
• Part‑time schedule with flexible hours.
