Part-Time Commercial Truck Driving Lab Assistant

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a part‑time Commercial Truck Driving Laboratory Assistant to support faculty in delivering the Commercial Truck Driving Certificate program on the Hagan and Screven campuses. You will work directly with students, ensuring safe and effective hands‑on training in a real‑world lab environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist full‑time faculty in teaching pre‑trip inspections, basic control skills, and backing maneuvers.
• Instruct students on the safe operation of a 10‑speed manual 53‑ft commercial truck.
• Maintain lab safety, equipment, and inventory.
• Evaluate student progress and provide feedback.
• Teach scheduled classes up to 28 hours per week, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Required profile

• Certificate in Commercial Truck Driving or accredited CTDL program.
• Valid Georgia Class A CDL.
• At least two years of commercial truck driving experience.
• Clean motor vehicle record for the past 7 years.
• Current DOT medical certificate.
• Pass drug screening and background check.
