Parole Officer I/II – Institutional Parole

About the role

We are seeking Parole Officer I/II to perform entry‑level parole administration within an institutional setting. The role involves supervising inmates, conducting investigations, and preparing parole documentation under close supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and conduct interviews with inmates to explain the parole process and deliver notices of parole panel actions.
• Compile documents, analyze information, and prepare case summaries and reports.
• Screen sentenced inmates for special programs, verify parole eligibility dates, and assist in release processing.
• Coordinate inmate information with staff, agencies, and the public, and respond to inquiries in person, by phone, or in writing.
• Perform criminal history searches using the Texas Department of Public Safety system and conduct data entry and retrieval.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in case work, criminal justice, military, or related fields preferred.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certification for the Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (TLETS) within six months of hire.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computer operations and data entry.
• Knowledge of the Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (TLETS).
