About the role

CAP is a key player in California’s legal system, offering a hands‑on internship that lets you support appellate advocacy and public‑interest law. As a Paralegal Intern you will work directly with counsel representing individuals on California’s death row, gaining real‑world experience in a high‑impact environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide documentary support and collect relevant records for cases.
• Conduct investigative reviews and assist with legal research.
• Draft and edit legal documents and writing samples.
• Perform technical tasks that strengthen client cases.
• Work full‑time or part‑time in the San Francisco office during the academic year.

Required profile

• Current enrollment in an accredited California paralegal training program.
• Strong interest in appellate advocacy and public‑interest law.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, communities, and legal teams.
• Demonstrated commitment to social justice and legal support.
