About the role
As a Packaging Engineer II (New College Graduate) you will develop, implement, and maintain packaging designs for product assemblies and parts within Applied Materials’ semiconductor manufacturing environment. You will generate specifications, conduct root‑cause analysis, and support cost‑saving initiatives to help advance the company’s cutting‑edge technologies.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain packaging designs for product assemblies and parts.
- Generate packaging piece‑part and material specifications.
- Research and implement packaging materials, equipment, and methods that benefit the business.
- Perform root‑cause analysis on simple packaging failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify and pursue cost‑saving initiatives through design, material, equipment, process, and sourcing changes.
- Release specifications via the Engineering Change Order process.
- Provide basic training and support to Packaging Engineer I as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned, varying with project goals and departmental needs.
Required profile
- Graduating with a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or a related field.
- Maintain a strong academic record, preferably a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
