Outside Sales Representative – Food Service

About the role

As a Sales Associate at The Chef’s Warehouse, you act as the face of the company by delivering outstanding customer service and building strong relationships. You will sell premium food products to restaurants, caterers, hotels, and retail establishments.

Key responsibilities

• Generate sales through new business opportunities and expand existing accounts.
• Compile prospective customer lists from networking, directories, trade shows and other sources.
• Travel within the assigned territory to visit customers and secure orders.
• Present products using samples or catalogs that highlight key features and benefits.
• Quote prices and credit terms, preparing contracts for orders.
• Provide estimated delivery dates and collect payments in a timely manner.
• Maintain detailed records of transactions, expense reports, and account receivables.
• Collaborate with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
• Track stock levels to align product availability with customer demand.
• Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with purchasing contracts.

Required profile

• 1–2 years experience in restaurant, food, or professional catering sales (or as a chef) preferred.
• High energy, enthusiastic, strong team player with a positive attitude.
• Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
• Self‑starter eager to learn and ask questions.
• College degree desired but not required.
• Must live within commuting distance to the sales area and have reliable transportation.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
