About the role
The State of Georgia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking an OQRI Auditor who is a Registered Nurse. The role involves conducting on‑site reviews, audits and surveys of clinical and treatment facilities across the statewide hospital system to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Perform on‑site reviews, audits, and surveys of clinical and treatment facilities.
- Coordinate quality‑assurance activities, including chart reviews and audits.
- Determine compliance with TJC, CMS, and state/federal regulations.
- Monitor, track, and maintain records of compliance findings.
- Plan and evaluate outcome studies and compliance reports.
- Develop, schedule, and implement mock surveys and complaint investigations.
- Recommend operational changes based on audit results.
- Research DBHDD policies, TJC standards, and CMS regulations.
- Participate in hospital system meetings and other assigned duties.
Required profile
- Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia.
- Experience in mental health (inpatient or outpatient, AMH or Forensics).
- Knowledge of treatment planning in mental health.
- Familiarity with TJC accreditation requirements and CMS certification standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% statewide.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using Microsoft SharePoint.
- Ability to apply Tracer Methodology in audits.
- Understanding of TJC (HAP, NCC, BHC) standards.
- Knowledge of CMS regulations.
