Optometrist (Physician) – Full-time Clinic Position

About the role

Ochsner Health System in Baton Rouge is seeking a board‑certified or board‑eligible Optometrist to provide comprehensive primary eye care within the Department of Ophthalmology, Section of Optometry. The position is clinic‑based and operates within an integrated practice model with a strong internal referral network.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver primary eye care services to patients in a clinic setting.
• Collaborate closely with Ochsner ophthalmologists and refer patients to specialists as needed.
• Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record platform for documentation and patient management.
• Leverage support from subspecialists throughout the Ochsner Health System.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible Optometrist.
• Experience or training in ocular disease management (desired).
• Commitment to providing primary eye care within an ophthalmology department.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the EPIC EMR system.
• Experience in ocular disease management.
