Optics Engineer – FEP Chamber (Physicist/Scientist)

About the role

We are seeking a recent graduate in optical sciences to join our Front End Products Business Unit. You will help develop innovative hardware for wafer heating and temperature measurement in next‑generation semiconductor annealing tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and test prototype hardware for advanced annealing technologies.
• Conduct lab‑bench experiments, collect and analyze data, and present findings to multidisciplinary teams.
• Analyze tool sensor and wafer data to troubleshoot performance issues.
• Define specifications and testing protocols with top‑tier optical suppliers.
• Integrate optical systems into final products and support cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Physics, Applied Optics or Optical Engineering (PhD preferred).
• Strong understanding of optical theory, design principles, and related techniques.
• Experience with optical design software (Zemax, CODEV) and non‑sequential ray‑tracing tools (Zemax, LightTools).
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and presentation abilities.

Required skills

• Zemax, CODEV, LightTools for optical design and ray‑tracing.
• MATLAB, Python, Mathematica for data analysis and automation.
• LabVIEW for laboratory measurement automation.
• Hands‑on optical testing, alignment, metrology, and imaging.
• Non‑contact temperature measurement and high‑power laser operation.
• Knowledge of optical materials, coatings, and supplier collaboration.
