Operations Startup Specialist

About the role

Nestlé USA is seeking an Operations Startup Specialist to lead the commissioning, qualification and verification (CQV) of new equipment and processes. The role supports the End‑to‑End Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager to ensure a safe, on‑time vertical startup that meets all Project Success Criteria.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the OSL workstream, coordinating indirect reports from Operations, Maintenance, SHE, QA, HR/Training, ME, Supply Planning and S&D.
• Drive safe, on‑time vertical startup of new equipment while staying within capital and PRO budgets.
• Maintain regular communication with the Steering Committee, Factory Leadership Team and functional workstream owners.
• Ensure completion of tasks and deliverables for each project phase and forecast commissioning budgets.

Required profile

• Proven operational experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills with front‑line associates, senior leaders and external partners.
• Ability to facilitate cross‑functional meetings and work across different shifts.
• Willingness to travel to other Nestlé sites or vendor locations as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with basic MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams).
• Working knowledge of manufacturing problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis tools.
• Understanding of effective project‑management principles.
