Operations Process Engineer – Capital System

About the role

The Operations Process Engineer supports manufacturing execution for the OTTAVA Surgical Robotic Platform Capital System production line. This hands‑on, shop‑floor position provides first‑line technical support for manufacturing test and system integration activities, partnering with Manufacturing, Test, Quality, and NPI Engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations, escalating issues when appropriate.
• Support system integration and test activities, working directly with Manufacturing Associates and cross‑functional engineers.
• Investigate test failures, troubleshoot hardware, software, and system interfaces, and document findings.
• Capture technical knowledge and recurring failure modes to improve troubleshooting consistency.
• Support change controls, CAPAs, NCRs, and other quality system activities, ensuring compliance with approved procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 0‑4 years of relevant engineering experience or equivalent academic projects, internships, or research.
• Hands‑on experience with engineering testing, system integration, scripting, or technical troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, technical writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Quality, NPI Engineering, and R&D partners.

Required skills

• Python scripting (basic)
• LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar data acquisition tools
• Automated test systems and hardware/software debugging
• SQL or manufacturing data analysis
• Experience with electromechanical or robotic systems is a plus
