Operations Management Manager III (M3) – FEP

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manager III in Operations Management (M3) for its FEP team in Austin. The role oversees production functions, ensures schedule adherence, and drives continuous improvement in a high‑tech manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise employees across assembly, inspection, test, and final test for capital equipment manufacturing.
• Prioritize production schedules based on manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity, and material requirements.
• Participate in operational meetings, develop and track performance metrics, and conduct milestone meetings.
• Ensure timely response to operational issues, analyze cost of quality, and initiate corrective actions.
• Oversee safety, environmental, health, and training compliance for all department personnel.
• Develop staff through training, performance management, hiring, and disciplinary processes.
• Support capacity optimization, implement process improvements, and drive Lean, Safety, and Quality initiatives.

Required profile

• Demonstrates understanding and application of procedures within the operations management job family.
• Applies knowledge of related areas to improve team efficiency.
• Provides formal supervision, sets priorities, and coaches employees to meet daily deadlines.
• Uses judgment to resolve day‑to‑day technical and operational problems.
• Communicates tactfully and handles sensitive issues with internal and external stakeholders.
