Operations Management Manager II (M2)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manager II to lead production and operations functions for its capital equipment and systems. The role oversees assembly, inspection, test, and final test activities while driving efficiency, safety, and quality across the manufacturing site in Austin, TX.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise employees across production functions such as assembly, inspection, test, and final test for electronic, mechanical, and electro‑mechanical components.
• Prioritize production schedules based on manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity, and material requirements.
• Lead operational meetings, milestone reviews, and performance‑metric tracking.
• Ensure timely response to operational issues affecting customer satisfaction and drive corrective actions.
• Oversee safety compliance, accident prevention, and required environmental, health, and safety training.
• Develop personnel through training, performance management, and career‑development planning.
• Identify and implement process, quality, and Lean improvements to optimize capacity and cycle time.

Required profile

• Demonstrated understanding of procedures within the manufacturing job family and basic knowledge of related functions.
• Formal supervisory experience with the ability to set priorities, coach employees, and meet daily deadlines.
• Strong judgment for solving day‑to‑day technical and operational problems.
• Ability to influence cross‑functional teams and communicate tactfully with internal and external stakeholders.
