Operations Intern - Management Track

About the role

Avis Budget Group is hiring an Operations Manager Intern (Management Track) in Alcoa, Tennessee, for the period June 8 to August 7, 2026. The internship covers supervision and development of front-line employees, fleet vehicle management and rental operation logistics, with hands-on experience in car rental and fleet management. It is paid $22 an hour and requires on-site presence; remote work is not possible.

Key responsibilities

• Customer service: interact with customers during the rental process, handle feedback and complaints and escalate issues as needed
• Reservations and check-in/check-out: manage reservations, verify documents and explain rental terms
• Safety and compliance: ensure vehicles meet safety standards and help keep inspection, maintenance and transaction records accurate
• Inventory control: keep accurate records of vehicle availability, rental agreements and returns
• Quality assurance: check vehicles for cleanliness and functionality before and after rentals
• Documentation and reporting: maintain rental and customer records, prepare reports on rental activity and help analyse data
• Cross-functional collaboration with customer service, sales and maintenance, plus ad hoc projects assigned by the Operations Manager

Required profile

• Full-time on-site availability during the term, 35 hours per week
• Active enrollment in a college or university, pursuing a bachelor's degree in hospitality, tourism or a business-related field, with graduation expected in 2027
• Previous internship or work experience in retail, customer service or hospitality preferred but not required
• Valid driver's license and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and moderate noise
