Operational Controller

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Operational Controller to lead financial planning and forecasting for its New Product organizations. Based in Austin, TX, you will work closely with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams to ensure data accuracy, drive strategic initiatives, and support operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead critical financial planning and forecasting cycles for New Product groups, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
• Drive cross‑functional projects that involve complex business relationships and strategic initiatives.
• Review, monitor, and approve financial transactions for assigned business areas, maintaining compliance with company policies.
• Develop comprehensive financial models, analyses, and executive‑level presentations to support decision‑making.
• Serve as a process integration lead for local, regional, and global finance initiatives.
• Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Business Units, and Supply Chain to provide financial insights and influence outcomes.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements, cost optimization, and process efficiencies through data‑driven analysis.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in financial planning, forecasting, cost management, and manufacturing finance.
• Subject‑matter expertise in finance processes, tools, and reporting methodologies.
• Ability to translate business challenges into actionable financial recommendations.
• Strong understanding of the link between financial results, operational drivers, and strategic objectives.
• Proven leadership in managing moderate to high‑complexity projects with multiple stakeholders.
