OpenRoads Designer - Transportation Infrastructure

About the role

Parsons is looking for an OpenRoads Designer to support its growing portfolio of transportation infrastructure projects. The role focuses on creating and refining 3D working drawings from survey data and concept plans while ensuring compliance with AASHTO and client standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare 3D engineering drawings, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, and isometrics using a CAD workstation.
• Collaborate closely with other designers, drafters, and engineers to ensure coordinated designs.
• Apply standard drafting and design principles and follow company policies and AASHTO standards.
• Compile data, perform dimensional calculations, and generate accurate drawing documentation.
• Interpret orthographic (2D) and isometric (3D) designs, as well as supplier/manufacturer drawings.
• Implement revisions and updates as directed by the supervisor.

Required profile

• 2‑year technical degree or related certification (preferred) with typically 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to interpret and ensure conformance to standards such as AASHTO and company procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with OpenRoads 3D modeling.
• Strong CAD workstation skills.
• Knowledge of AASHTO standards.
• Experience with FDOT transportation infrastructure projects.
