Open Rank Professor – Computer Science

About the role

Saint Louis University invites applications for an Open Rank Professor position in the Department of Computer Science, beginning Fall 2026. The appointment rank will be commensurate with experience, and outstanding candidates may be considered for the Saint Louis University Research Institute Fellow distinction.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and sustain a nationally or internationally recognized research program, with emphasis on areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, algorithms, bioinformatics, networking, computer vision, graphics, high‑performance computing, HCI, and privacy.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop new curricula, and supervise graduate students.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners across the university, including the School of Medicine, Business School, and research institutes.
• Contribute to departmental service, recruitment, and outreach activities.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field, completed by the time of appointment.
• Strong record of research productivity and potential for external funding.
• Demonstrated excellence or promise in teaching at the university level.
• Interest in AI, Cybersecurity, or other computer‑science domains; all areas are considered.
