Onsite Psychiatrist – Yokosuka, Japan

About the role

Arcetyp LLC is seeking a board‑certified Psychiatrist to work onsite at a Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan. The role supports military personnel and their families by delivering mental‑health services, participating in wellness programs, and ensuring compliance with government and healthcare regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with clinical staff and base personnel to promote mental‑health wellness programs, including addiction counseling, stress management, and group therapy.
• Provide patient consultations requested by Naval Hospital healthcare providers in accordance with established guidelines.
• Document procedures and patient care using the Health Maintenance Strategies International (HMSI) standards and submit required reports.
• Support the Family Advocacy Program and attend all mandatory annual training classes.
• Participate in the command’s Performance Improvement Program, reviewing care quality and recommending corrective actions.
• Respond efficiently to emergency patient situations, following protocols, notifying appropriate personnel, and documenting events.
• Maintain compliance with The Joint Commission standards, HIPAA privacy rules, and all applicable governmental regulations.
• Operate and manipulate automated systems such as CHCS, AHLTA, ADS, Essentra, and the Clinical Information System (CIS).

Required profile

• Medical license to practice psychiatry in the United States and eligibility to work in Japan under DoD regulations.
• Experience providing psychiatric care in a military or federal healthcare setting.
• Ability to work independently, remain calm in emergencies, and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to comply with all training, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
