Oncology Nurse Navigator (Full-Time)

About the role

The Oncology Nurse Navigator provides patient‑centered navigation through the cancer care continuum, ensuring timely access to diagnosis, treatment and survivorship services. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the role supports patients and families with education, advocacy and coordination of care.

Key responsibilities

• Triages new patient referrals and coordinates multidisciplinary care across diagnosis, treatment, survivorship and end‑of‑life phases.
• Acts as primary point of contact, delivering culturally competent communication, education and advocacy for patients.
• Collaborates with hospital staff, community resources and case managers to identify high‑risk patients and implement targeted interventions.
• Documents navigation activities according to program standards and participates in quality assurance and cancer screening events.
• Provides education on care plans, medications, clinical trials and supports cancer support groups and survivorship planning.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with current Arizona RN licensure (or compact state license) and a valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Current BLS certification and Chemotherapy certification.
• Experience delivering nursing or health‑education services, preferably in oncology.
• Completion of 6 hours of cancer‑related continuing education annually or possession of an oncology nursing certification.
• Ability to travel to outlying communities and work occasional evenings or weekends.
