About the role
The Nutrition Education Assistant supports the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) by delivering nutrition, food resource management, food safety, and physical activity education to low‑income adults and youth in Corpus Christi and surrounding communities.
Key responsibilities
- Teach nutrition, food resource management, food safety, and physical activity to adults and youth in person or virtually.
- Deliver evidence‑based curricula that are culturally sensitive and available in English and Spanish.
- Conduct sessions in various community locations across Corpus Christi and surrounding areas.
- Maintain accurate records of participant attendance and program outcomes in accordance with federal grant requirements.
- Collaborate with schools, faith‑based groups, housing authorities, shelters and other local agencies to identify and reach low‑income families.
Required profile
- Ability to teach nutrition‑related topics to low‑income audiences.
- Comfort delivering instruction both in‑person and via virtual platforms.
- Willingness to work in diverse community settings.
- Commitment to culturally sensitive and appropriate education.
