Nuclear Controls Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Nuclear Controls Engineer to join our team in Wilmington, NC (with onsite work also possible in Greenville, SC). The role focuses on integrating and validating communication between NUMAC, H31, and plant systems for small modular reactors.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate NUMAC with the H31 communication platform and develop detailed system requirements.
• Define and document system requirements for communication between NUMAC and EGD systems.
• Develop communication protocols for NUMAC interaction with Plant UDH.
• Collaborate with control system engineers, software developers, and plant operations to ensure system compatibility and performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Nuclear Engineering or related field.
• 5‑12 years of experience with SMR control systems such as BWRX‑300.
• Knowledge of nuclear industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience with control system communications in nuclear power plant environments.
• Strong understanding of communication protocols and systems integration (DCS, SCADA, PLC interfaces).
• Experience in system requirements development, prototyping, and final design processes.
• Familiarity with NUMAC, H31, EGD systems and Plant UDH communication architectures is highly desirable.
