Nocturnist Emergency Medicine Physician

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Emergency Medicine physician to join its nocturnist team in Meridian, Mississippi. The position involves 12‑hour night shifts in a 24‑bed Emergency Department of a 215‑bed hospital, with access to a bedside ultrasound and EPIC EMR system.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care during night shifts, including trauma management at a Level 3 Trauma Center.
• Utilize bedside ultrasound and EPIC electronic medical record to diagnose and document patient care.
• Collaborate with hospitalists, specialists, and the Emergency Medicine Director for patient flow and mentorship of rotating residents.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour nocturnist shifts and provide coverage in a high‑volume ED.

Required skills

• Bedside ultrasound proficiency.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record.
