NICU Hospitalist – Pediatric Physician

About the role

Ochsner Children’s Hospital is seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Pediatricians with a strong interest in Neonatal Medicine to join the NICU Hospitalist team at Ochsner Baptist Medical Center. The role involves practicing in a state‑of‑the‑art, 67‑bed Level IV NICU within an academic, multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct care for critically ill newborns in a Level IV NICU, including high‑acuity and moderate‑acuity patients.
• Collaborate closely with Neonatologists, Advanced Practice Practitioners, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other specialists.
• Manage newborns requiring higher‑level care in the Transitional Care Nursery.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including the Vermont Oxford Network and patient safety programs.
• Engage in teaching and learning activities through affiliations with Tulane University, University of Queensland, and Ochsner’s residency programs.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics.
• Demonstrated interest and experience in Neonatal Medicine.
