Neuromuscular Neurologist (Physician)

About the role

Ochsner Health seeks a Board‑certified or eligible Neuromuscular Neurologist to join its clinical team in New Orleans. The physician will collaborate with department staff to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care while upholding Ochsner’s core values of Patients First, Integrity, Compassion, Inclusivity, Teamwork and Excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients, establish diagnoses, and prescribe medications, treatments, and follow‑up care.
• Work with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Document patient encounters accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and ensure proper medical coding.
• Order additional evaluations, make referrals, and coordinate care across facilities.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, credentialing standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Board certified or eligible in Neurology (or related primary specialty).
• Licensed MD/DO with active practice privileges.
• Willingness to maintain an active clinical practice and uphold professional standards.
• Commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation.
• Knowledge of medical coding and billing processes.
• Ability to prescribe pharmaceuticals and manage treatment regimens.
