Network Engineer III – Technical Lead

About the role

The Network Engineer III will act as the technical lead for complex networking projects within the Texas A&M University System Offices, supporting the RELLIS Campus and other system entities. Reporting to the Director of the RELLIS Campus, the role involves overseeing design, implementation, testing, and documentation of enterprise‑level networks.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and coordinate design activities for very complex networking projects.
• Review network design plans and ensure compliance with technical standards.
• Conduct and coordinate testing to certify projects against installation design standards.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, track, and repair complex enterprise data communication network problems.
• Provide technical oversight for new network development or upgrades.
• Facilitate input from clients, system administrators, contractors, and vendors to develop specifications and plans.
• Oversee documentation of network engineering designs, plans, maps, procedures, and repairs.
• Create, evaluate, and approve plans for new technology deployments and system integration testing.
• Assist in monitoring and maintaining network security and evaluate new technologies.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading complex networking projects.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities for enterprise‑level networks.
• Ability to coordinate technical activities of a network engineering team.
• Experience preparing reports, status updates, and problem summaries for management.
