NA Product Manager for Superabsorbent Polymers

About the role

We are looking for a North America Product Manager for Superabsorbent Polymers to join BASF’s Petrochemicals team in Houston. The role focuses on pricing, margin management and the financial and operational planning of the product portfolio, working closely with cross‑functional teams to achieve business targets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage pricing strategy and margin performance for the superabsorbent polymers portfolio.
• Develop and maintain financial, demand and supply forecasts, as well as inventory targets.
• Coordinate operational and supply‑chain planning with Manufacturing, Sales, Supply Chain, Marketing, Controlling and Technical Service.
• Analyse monthly P&L and cost‑center results, prepare commentary and drive corrective actions.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities and lead business‑process improvement initiatives.
• Implement pricing initiatives based on raw‑material costs, market supply/demand and competitive dynamics.
• Collaborate with regional counterparts to leverage import/export relationships.

Required profile

• Proven experience in product management, pricing or financial planning within the petrochemical or related chemical industry.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial and market data.
• Excellent cross‑functional collaboration skills, able to work with manufacturing, sales, supply chain, marketing and technical teams.
• Effective communication and presentation abilities for internal and external stakeholders.
