Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician

About the role

Join 3M’s Springfield manufacturing plant as a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Technician, supporting a variety of production equipment and collaborating with innovative teams worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and modify production equipment, including electrical, electronic, robotic, pneumatic, and hydraulic control systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues to minimize downtime.
• Develop and implement maintenance procedures and techniques for safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
• Analyze equipment data to continuously improve maintenance plans.
• Provide training and development for maintenance and production workforce.

Required profile

• At least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma/GED or higher (verified before start).
• Minimum three years of industrial manufacturing technician experience in a private, public, government, or military setting, or a technical degree in a related engineering field.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting PLC‑controlled systems.
• Willingness to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• May be required to pass 3M selection testing.
