MS/Neuro Immunology Neurologist (Physician)

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a board‑certified or board‑eligible physician to join its Neurology department as a specialist in multiple sclerosis and neuro‑immunology. The role involves delivering high‑quality patient care, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and upholding Ochsner’s core values of Patients First, Integrity, Compassion, Inclusivity, Teamwork and Excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients, establish diagnoses, and prescribe appropriate medications and treatment regimens for MS and related neuro‑immunologic conditions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Document patient encounters promptly and accurately in the Electronic Health Record system.
• Order additional evaluations, make referrals, and ensure accurate coding of all visits.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, credentialing standards, federal and state regulations, and hazardous drug handling procedures.

Required profile

• Board certification or eligibility in Neurology (or related primary specialty) and a valid MD or DO license.
• Credentialed by Ochsner and willing to maintain an active clinical practice.
• Ability to travel between Ochsner facilities and handle hazardous drug‑contaminated materials.
• Commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Accurate medical coding of patient encounters.
• Experience handling hazardous drugs and related safety protocols.
