MRI Technologist – Kings Hwy

About the role

The MRI Technologist on Kings Hwy is responsible for maintaining a safe MRI environment while performing routine MRI examinations. The role includes patient assessment, equipment operation, and acting as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Verify physician orders, explain procedures to patients, and operate MRI equipment according to protocol, including IV placement.
• Review images for diagnostic quality before transmission and perform timely quality‑control and regulatory compliance tasks.
• Utilize the radiology information system for scheduling, documentation, and inventory management.
• Assist with departmental operations such as staff scheduling, equipment maintenance, and inventory control.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adapt communication style to diverse patient populations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; clinical MRI experience preferred.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) and registration as an MR technologist (ARRT, ARMRIT, or CAMRT) or equivalent qualifications with supervised MRI scanning experience.
• Advanced MRI certification recognized by the ACR Registry required within two years of employment.

Required skills

• Proficient operation of MRI scanners and image quality assessment.
• Experience with Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and data entry.
• Windows‑based computer skills and use of specialized imaging software.
• Ability to perform IV placement and adhere to safety protocols.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and knowledge of MRI safety procedures.
