About the role

The Monitor Tech provides essential patient monitoring support within the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Working closely with nursing and clinical teams, the technician ensures accurate acquisition and interpretation of vital signs and cardiac data.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain patient monitoring equipment, including EKG and heart station devices.
• Record, verify, and transmit real‑time physiological data to the clinical team.
• Assist nurses with setup, troubleshooting, and calibration of monitoring systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety and infection‑control protocols.
• Document monitoring activities accurately in the electronic health record.

Required profile

• Current employee of the University of Arkansas System or eligible student/graduate assistant.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced clinical environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating EKG and cardiac monitoring equipment.
• Basic knowledge of patient vital sign parameters.
