Mid/Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) – Faculty Specialist

About the role

The Center for Advanced Transportation Technology (CATT) Lab at the A. James Clark School of Engineering is looking for a Mid/Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) who will also serve as a Senior Faculty Specialist. The role bridges research, software development, and transportation operations, helping deliver analytics tools that improve safety, efficiency, and environmental outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Define, document, and test transportation data analytics and operations applications.
• Lead cross‑functional teams of developers, analysts, UX designers, and data scientists in an Agile environment.
• Coordinate product road‑maps, milestones, and stakeholder communication for internal and external users.
• Ensure software stability, security, and usability while managing large‑scale traffic data sets.
• Mentor junior staff and collaborate with university faculty on research integration.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing technical programs in software‑intensive environments.
• Strong background in transportation data, analytics, or related engineering domains.
• Ability to work with diverse teams and communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Flexibility to operate onsite in College Park or remotely as needed.
