Middle School Art Teacher (Grades 6-8)

About the role

The West Middle School is seeking a dedicated Art Teacher for grades 6‑8 to continue its tradition of academic excellence. You will design and deliver engaging visual‑arts instruction that meets the needs of a diverse learner population.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, teach, and assess art curriculum for middle‑school students.
• Create differentiated lessons that support varied learning styles and abilities.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment through strong management techniques.
• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to promote a supportive learning community.
• Utilize current educational technology for communication, instruction, and progress monitoring.

Required profile

• Valid Minnesota license in middle‑school art.
• Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated strategies.
• Proven classroom management skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Experience teaching visual arts to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with educational technology tools used for communication and student progress monitoring.
