Mergers and Acquisitions Financial Analyst

About the role

The Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Unit of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the regulatory review of bank and holding‑company merger and acquisition filings. Reporting to the unit manager, you will work within the Supervision, Credit, and Learning Division, handling a full caseload from intake through final disposition.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple merger, acquisition, control change, and de novo branch filings.
• Evaluate proposals against statutory factors, financial condition, managerial quality, and risk considerations.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation, including summaries, analytical assessments, and recommendations for action or referral.
• Present case updates in weekly team meetings and ad‑hoc briefings.
• Collaborate with internal teams (safety and soundness, consumer affairs, legal) and external stakeholders (regulatory agencies, applicants, Federal Reserve Board staff).
• Participate in special projects and system‑wide M&A workgroups.
