About the role
Mentor Coordinators support the DREAM Program by training and recruiting volunteer mentors from college campuses and assisting with the Village Mentoring and Afterschool programs. The role provides holistic support for mentees while working closely with Youth Service Managers.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure volunteer mentors understand the Village Mentoring and Afterschool model and their responsibilities.
- Communicate with the Youth Services Manager to assess mentee needs and foster partnerships between mentors, staff, and the community.
- Provide mentors with resources and training to deliver high‑quality mentoring experiences.
- Build and maintain relationships with every volunteer mentor and mentee in the supported chapter.
- Strategically plan chapter wellness, including recruitment, mentor‑to‑mentee ratios, compliance documentation, and transition support.
Required profile
- U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident and at least 17 years old (or 16 out‑of‑school youth).
- Pass required criminal background checks (NSOPW, state repository, FBI fingerprint).
- Current Chair for DREAM at a Northern Vermont chapter and committed to the full service term.
- Strong commitment to DREAM’s mission, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Demonstrated experience serving diverse communities and ability to manage time and priorities.
- Reliable transportation, phone access, and ability to meet in person regularly.

- Living stipend of $250 paid bi‑weekly.
