Member of Technical Staff, Platform Engineering

About the role

Abundant is building a simulation infrastructure that enables next‑generation models to reason and solve complex problems at massive scale. As a Member of Technical Staff in Platform Engineering you will work directly with the Head of Engineering to design, build and scale core components of this platform.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of critical parts of the core simulation engine, adding new features and improving performance.
• Drive key metrics such as throughput and cost while ensuring the system can handle 10 billion+ events and tens of thousands of monthly users.
• Collaborate across customer‑facing product teams and internal infrastructure teams to deliver reliable solutions.
• Help shape and grow the engineering culture as the technical team expands.

Required profile

• Deep technical fluency with evaluations, reinforcement learning, large language models and autonomous agents.
• Research‑oriented mindset; able to read and apply state‑of‑the‑art literature.
• Extreme ownership and founder‑level mentality, resourceful and scrappy.
• Creative problem‑solver who can design projects from the ground up.

Required skills

• Evaluations and benchmarking of AI models.
• Reinforcement learning (RL) concepts and implementation.
• Large language models (LLMs) and agent architectures.
• Proficiency with coding agents such as Codex or Claude Code.
