Member of Technical Staff – Multi‑Modal Vision

About the role

Liquid‑AI is building general‑purpose AI systems that run efficiently on a wide range of devices. The VLM team focuses on vision‑language models that operate on‑device under strict latency and memory limits while maintaining high quality. As a Member of Technical Staff you will drive the research, development, and deployment of these models.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end development of new model capabilities, from task specification through data curation, training, ablation studies, evaluation, and production deployment.
• Design and implement multimodal training pipelines and distributed training strategies.
• Improve visual reasoning using reinforcement‑learning and preference‑optimization techniques.
• Push the token‑efficiency frontier by innovating encoder and connector designs.
• Own a major work‑stream such as video understanding, data‑quality pipelines, or encoder architecture.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience training or evaluating vision‑language models with rigorous experimentation.
• Proven ability to translate research ideas into scalable implementations.
• Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with at least one deep‑learning framework.
• M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
