About the role
The Melt Controller is responsible for safely converting raw materials into high‑quality molten metal, maintaining precise temperature and chemical specifications throughout the casting process.
Key responsibilities
- Convert raw materials into liquid metal at temperatures exceeding 2800 °F.
- Control and adjust metal chemistry to meet specifications.
- Operate, maintain, and repair the furnace, including daily patches and refractory relining.
- Record pouring temperatures and prepare ladles for daily use.
- Ensure safe execution of all duties and follow supervisor directions.
Required profile
- Ability to follow supervisor instructions and work safely.
- Understanding of temperature controls and furnace operation.
- Willingness to assist with cleaning and maintaining furnaces and ladles.
Required skills
- Furnace operation and maintenance.
- Metal chemistry adjustment and monitoring.
- Temperature control and recording.

- Starting pay $27.12‑$29.62 per hour plus $2.50 weekend shift differential.
