Medical Laboratory Scientist II – Hematology (Evening/Night Shift)

About the role

The Medical Laboratory Scientist II performs standard hematology laboratory procedures on an evening/night shift, applying independent judgment with minimal supervision. The role supports patient care by delivering accurate test results and maintaining laboratory quality.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain equipment, records, and perform quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) activities for hematology testing.
• Execute a broad range of hematology laboratory procedures, including specimen analysis and result verification.
• Collaborate with health‑care practitioners to ensure appropriate test utilization and interpretation.
• Participate in special projects, administrative duties, and lead technologist responsibilities as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in medical technology, medical laboratory science, or a related biological science.
• At least 2 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
• ASCP or equivalent certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT).

Required skills

• Experience with automation systems used in clinical laboratories.
• Proficiency in current hematology instrumentation and testing methods.
• Ability to perform QC/QA procedures and maintain accurate laboratory documentation.
