Medical Laboratory Scientist I – Microbiology PRN

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist I to provide on‑call (PRN) microbiology support. This temporary, fixed‑term position works varied shifts and assists clinical teams by performing diagnostic microbiology testing.

Key responsibilities

• Perform microbiology specimen processing, culture, identification, and susceptibility testing.
• Document and report test results accurately in the laboratory information system.
• Maintain quality control and assurance procedures in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and biosafety guidelines.

Required profile

• Legal authorization to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
